2018 Awards Ceremony and moving forward in 2019

JRG had our first Awards Ceremony on Nov 7, 2018 at Halifax City Hall. The $3,500 JRG Grant for Artists with Disabilities, went to Artist Wy Joung Kou. Two runner ups Marisha Pula and Amber Williams King received a $250 cash award. We are grateful to William F. White who provided a $5,000 in-kind donation to our 2018 JRG Atlantic Filmmaker Award Winner РAlex Kronstein.

The Awards Ceremony was well attended, with over 120 people coming to the event.

Thanks to Nova Scotia Communities Culture and Heritage Grant we were able to exhibit and commission the work of 20 Nova Scotian artists with disabilities at the Awards Ceremony. We sold over $600 worth of art – with all the proceeds going back to the artists.

Our JRG team is once again working hard to provide grants to artists who are living with disabilites across Canada. We are delighted to announce that William F. White is once again going to provide $5,000 in-kind support. Thanks to William F. White we will be able to give the JRG Atlantic Filmmaker Award.

More news about our upcoming grants and their deadlines will be announced in the next few months!
