"Rather than bend disabled bodies and minds to meet the clock, crip time bends the clock to meet disabled bodies and minds” (Alison Kafer).

"JRG's funds did not come with any deadline for project completion. This has been so important in the creation of this work.... Creating tactile artworks, essentially pixel by pixel, is labour-intensive work. And when my aching disabled body meets this work, it is strongly called to move at the pace of crip time…JRG’s financial support enabled me to embrace crip time in my professional practice rather than fight against it—an experience so counter to capitalism that it rarely presents itself, no matter how deep the need. It also established the conditions for me to create some of my most intricate artwork to date...The mosaic I created with JRG support is in many ways an ode to crip time and to the people carving out space for disabled artists to lean, slowly and comfortably, into new possibilities and discoveries with their practices."
